Matahum Nga Cebu: A Medical Mission (The RCTV 7th Anniversary Kick Off Event)
To kick off RCTV’s 7th anniversary celebration, the team organized a truly inspiring day for the people of Brgy. Guadalupe.
On August 28, 2010, a medical and dental mission to commence the “Matahum nga Cebu” theme for this year’s anniversary was made possible by a team of selfless volunteers to provide free basic health services to the residents of the said Barangay.
The medical mission was scheduled to start at 8 am but a handful of eager residents came even before that.
The day followed a simple yet efficient process. The registration was facilitated by volunteer nurses who gladly assisted the patients in filling up their basic profile sheets, which included recording their weight, blood pressure and also taking down specific complaints.
Following a priority number system, the residents proceeded to the consultation area and had their medical complaints addressed by one of the four very approachable doctors. The doctors then advised if the patients needed any of the services like blood count, urinalysis and sugar analysis.

In addition to that, medications for adults and children alike were given in accordance to the doctors’ assessment. Right after completing the process the patients proceeded to get their gift packs.
Aside from this, a dental check up and free haircut were available for those who needed it.

The consolidated efforts of RCTV, the City government, non-governmental organizations, businesses and volunteer groups will not be forgotten by the people of Brgy. Guadalupe. Not only did residents go home happy but they felt more assured and thankful to have been benificiaries of the medical and dental mission.
