RCTV Bio

Techno dancer, active student leader. Nursing student by day, event organizer by night. With all that paradox. That's the multi-faceted Glynnis Gabrielle P. Vivares, simply known as “Abby” , the funky RCTV host.

This 18 year old student from the University of San Carlos-Talamban, is always ready to mix and mingle, do house parties and late night revelries, does swimming and calesthenics and always ready to drop a tune every now and then.

She's interested with fashion, comical and epic movies, Hollywood gossips, Paramount songs. She loves tuning in on tv series like Gossip Girls, 90210, CSI, Heroes, Tudors, Prison Break and American Idol.

An avid singer and dancer, Abby's musical genre are pop, alternative, house-techno and classic songs. She usually listens to Black Eyed Peas, Taylor Swift, We the Kings, Hed Kandi, Kaskade, Lady Gaga, and Jennifer Hudson.

She also cried on Hollywood tragedies; when Jack drowned on Titanic, Jamie died on A Walk to Remember and when the dog sobbed on Marley and Me. But she also had her ashare of the funny ones like She's the Man. She also fell inlove with Twilight's star-crossed lover, Edward and Bella and follow her nose of inquisitiveness while Robert Langdon ran around Rome in Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.

Tracking back to history, she got in RCTV through Rane Songalia whom she practically grew up with. Rane's dad, Chad Songalia is RCTV’s branch manager. It never came to her that she will be an RCTV VJ that the job even surprised herself when it sprung up as one of her open job opportunities. After months of drifting, it took her a couple of months before doing an on-the-spot recorded interview. And when luck and destiny on her side, a confirmation from RCTV made her VJ Abby of Real Acces. As she quip, “when a door closes, another opens… for something even better.”

Real Acces gave her an opportunity to meet significant people under the spotlight like Kaskade that left her starstruck and stuttered during the interview. Despite the total embarrasment she got herself into, according to her, she learned to love that part of her that there will always be room for change and improvement. That there’s always a first time and those “first times” mold you into either a better or worse VJ. And that experience made her into a better VJ through the constant help and encouragement by the RCTV family.

The best thing she said in being an RCTV VJ is meeting new people and widening your social network. Being a proud Cebuana, she said Cebuanos are not only known to be globally competitive in terms of talents, skills and minds, but also known to have earned tehir freedom rightfully and have fought for the country’s rights. Today, we are free and are half way through dominating the world of entertainment.

RCTV brings out the REAL and best in people including that of VJ Abby.
