RCTV Bio
Let's start describing VJ Althea with these simple adjectves - an outgoing certified sports buff who aspires to be a chef. Born Althea Therese Pacifico Erasga on the 11th of August 1986, Althea, as she is popularly known to her Real Access fans, is a nursing graduate from University of San Carlos-Technical Campus.
She was discovered in RCTV’s Ramp the VJ Hunt last 2007 and she has been a VJ in the station since then.
A member of Cebu’s flag football team, this athletic lady is a swimming instructor, a wall climber, and a badminton and table tennis player. “I also dance my heart and soul out,” she adds.
Just like others, Althea is very interested in gastronomy! Checking out new restaurants in town and other food places is her definition of real adventure. By just surfing the net for recipes and sprinkling a dash of effort and love while cooking, she can already ruin her friends diet with the good food she prepares.
Aside from her TV stint, Althea still wants to do three more things in her life: to be a professional chef, to be part of the few female drag racers in Cebu and to join an all out adventure race like the Amazing Race Asia.
This gal is also a fan of music, books and movies. She is into all music genres like R&B, reggae, house and trance music, retro, jazz and blues. A mixture of everything works out for her just fine. She also likes Paulo Coelho’s books, Harry Potter series and Philip Yancey’s Jesus I Never Knew. Her favourite movies are Dead Poet Society, Ironman and X Men Origins – Wolverine. She often watches shows like Friends, Everyday Italian, Barefoot Contessa, Extreme Makeover :Home Edition, American Idol, Oprah and Hey Arnold.
Quite the chatterbox, Althea recalls meeting Efren Bata Reyes as the most memorable experience she has had with RCTV. She hopes to do a show about food and sports in RCTV in the near future.
According to Althea, the best thing about being an RCTV VJ is meeting interesting people and gain many friends. She is grateful for the chance to expand her horizon.
Imagine Cebu without RCTV? “It’s gonna be boring. We’ll get stuck in the mainstream pop culture with no information at all,” she affirmed.
