About Me
|
I am the youngest of four girls. I am left-handed. I am a beach bum/island girl. I’m kind of obsessive compulsive. I can be really geeky sometimes. I love surfing on Wikipedia everyday because not only do I learn new things, but it also makes me be a source of a lot of useless information. I LOVE food – it’s one of my greatest passions in life. I am a proud probinsyana, Cebuana, public high school graduate and Atenista. I love music – listening to it, dancing to it, playing it, watching bands play it. I play the piano and guitar but can’t write my own music. I consider myself to be more of a frustrated dancer than a frustrated musician. I am most myself when I am: 1.) with the people closest to me, and 2.) at the beach. I listen to different kinds of music, eat different kinds of food, and hang out with different kinds of people. I’m normally outspoken and talkative, but I occasionally get really reclusive and quiet. I’m a writer at heart and make it a point to write everyday. I love trying new things, making new friends and learning new lessons – makes living life a bit more interesting. |

RCTV Bio
Beauty, talent, spunk, brains – name it, Ria's got it. This (almost always) hyperactive rakista is the host of one of RCTV's latest show, Tambayan sa Outspost. It is in this show that she is able to bring out the music lover in her.
She started out her career in RCTV last January 2009 when her good friend Jay Young (who is also the producer of Tambayan sa Outpost) asked her to host a show that featured Cebu bands playing all-acoustic sets. Being a proud bisdak and an avid fan of local music, she immediately said yes.
Ria has now finished shooting a season with the show and she has immensely enjoyed it. “I love that I am able to meet new people and broaden my horizons in terms of work. Being a host for Tambayan sa Outpost, I am also able to get an exclusive intimate show with my favorite local bands! I also really love the Tambayan sa Outpost crew! They’re the best!”
With her larger-than-life personality, its always a pleasure having her around during shoots. When ask what memorable experience she had while working with Tambayan sa Outpost, this is what she had to say: “I was waiting for the crew to finish shooting the band performance scenes, so I decided to take a nap out in the Outpost porch. I forgot that the couch I slept on was behind some stacked chairs, so when the crew had to shoot my scenes, they were like, “Asa naman toh si Ria??” and they had to look for me. That was pretty funny.”
Ria loves hosting Tambayan because she is very passionate about our local music scene in Cebu. “I love it when our artists get in the country's spotlight. I'd really like to help them get there.”
Ria belives that Cebu's local cable would be lacking without RCTV. For her, the people of Cebu deserve to have a TV station that shows not only the great things about Cebu, but also all the latest trends, the newest restaurants, business ventures, etc. “It's a great way to discover new things in town, not only for locals, but for tourists as well. I’m honored to be part of the first TV station to have coverage on everything about Cebu. I love it that I am an instrument in showcasing the best of Cebu to the public. RCTV is awesome!”
